It’s My Birthday! And I can swoon if I want to.

I am turning old. Which in my books is 22. But seriously. I mean, when I was 21, I could go: I was a teenager two years ago, I am only just an adult in the US, I’m young and fancy free etc etc etc.
22, though? I was a teenager three years ago. Geezus. Like, I feel like I should be a fully fledged adult, and instead I’m doing absolutely nothing adult-like in any way. But to be honest, I don’t think that’ll ever change. I’ll never stop flailing over the things I love (*cough* Merlin *cough*), I’ll never stop reading YA, I’ll never stop wanting to see the newest Disney movie, I’ll always seek comfort from my mum when things fall to shit, and I’ll still love and adore everything that I always have. Being 22 (or older) isn’t really going to change that.
And besides, I still look 16, I can get away with all this.
Anyway, I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, and thank you all for making the last year in the blogosphere so lovely. You all mean the world to me when you chat to me about things we mutually love, or when you comment on my blog. It brings a smile to my face, to be sure.

Happy birthday! Don’t worry, age has absolutely no bearing on coolness or formality or giving up your personality. You basically go from “I’m young enough to get away with this” to “I’m old enough to realize life is too short to NOT get excited about the things I love”. Seeing as when I was 11 years old you weren’t even born yet, you can also pull out the whole wisdom card as you get older. Worth it. :)

Adulting is overrated, so don’t worry. I turned 27 this year, and nothing is really that different from when I was 21 or 22. (I still look 16 as well. Supposedly we’ll appreciate it when we’re 40, haha.)
