Books for Mail is basically me showcasing my addiction to buying books. Every two weeks, I’ll show you guys which books I have bought/received, and hopefully you’ll find some great titles!

So I suppose this is a bit of a special Books for Mail, because I’m showcasing the books I received for Christmas! Which actually isn’t that many because people know that I buy way too many books so chances are they’d buy me something I already have. But even so, these are the titles I received for Christmas :D

Christmas Collage

Proxy by Alex London: I got this one from my Aussie YA Bloggers Secret Santa – Kelly! I cannot wait to read this book because it’s spec fic and LGBT, which is pretty rare.

Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey by Ed Sheeran: ED SHEERAN. I love Ed, and I can’t wait to read about his journey.

The Art of Howl’s Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki: Howl’s is my favourite non-Disney animated movie of all time, and this art book is simply gorgeous.

The Complete Grimm’s Fairy Tales by Jacob & Wilhelm Grimm: AH, THIS VERSION IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Being vegan, all the pretty leather classics that are out at the moment are completely off limits, but my mum managed to find this clothbound one, AND it comes with a wooden slipcase (which you can actually see in the pic above). Perf.

So these are the books I received for Christmas :D Let me know some of the titles you got gifted!

  2. Merry Christmas! And wow, I really want Proxy and Grimm’s Fairytales. I have a Grimm’s Fairytales in a different edition…I wonder if it includes all their stories? I hope so.

  3. Oooh I didn’t know Ed Sheeran had a book! :O I need to get that because I love him as well. I need to get Proxy as well. I’ve been meaning to read it forever! I hope you enjoy all your goodies. :D

You know now! :D I love his music so much, and I cannot wait to see him live in March!

Proxy looks amazingly good, and I’m looking forward to reading it. Thanks, lovely!

  4. I just read the premise for Proxy and it sounds fantastic. I’m definitely intrigued! I picked up The Perilous Sea this christmas so now I can marathon the first two books! :D

I know, right! I can’t wait to see if the words inside match it.

I have heard a lot of good things about that series! I have the first book on my kindle, and I really should read it soon.

The Art of Howl’s Moving Castle looks amazing!! And Proxy! I loved that book. Hope you’ll enjoy it too :) If you are curious of my Christmas books just look at my IG

  6. Mawa Mahima says:

All of those books are so good! (I’m not-so-secretly coveting them…)
Wow, Ed Sheeran published a book? I have a feeling it’s going to be good (visual journey? Considering ALL of his tattoos, yes please)
Also…Howl’s Moving Castle was BRILLIANT! Studio Ghibli (in general) is pretty brilliant…have you watched any other animations by them? I’d recommend Arietty, and Kiki’s Delivery Service, and My Neighbour Totoro, and of course Spirited Away. ^.^

    • Chiara says:

I know! I’m incredibly happy with them ^.^

He did! I cannot wait to read it. It’s filled with heaps of paintings and drawings, and they’re awesome.

I have seen nearly all of Studio Ghibli’s movies :D Howl’s is my favourite, closely followed by Princess Mononoke.

  7. That is definitely a beautiful edition of the Grimm’s fairytales! I actually hadn’t heard of the other books you got, but now I’m curious and will look into them. As for me, I didn’t get any books – but I did get a Dymocks giftcard which I’m sure going to put to good use :)

  8. These all look awesome Chiara! Especially Proxy, the story sounds so unique and interesting, hope you enjoy them!

I was so happy for an entire day all because someone got me a gift card for a bookstore. I love getting bookish things for presents, and I even got some really cute bookmarks too. :3 I can’t wait to use them for bookstagram.

I hope you enjoy all your gifts!

    • Chiara says:

I love getting bookish things for presents, too! It makes everything that much more fabulous. YAY for bookmarks. I have been known to collect them. A lot of them. I hope I get to see yours on Instagram!

Thanks, lovely! Enjoy yours, too ;D
