Artistry: A Spotlight on Cheryl Connell
In my travels of the internet, I come across very talented people. Writers, photographers, painters, drawers, graphic designers. And when I find these artist’s beautiful work, I want to share it with as many people as possible. So that is why I have decided to create Artistry: A Spotlight. To showcase some of the art that I come across. I hope you enjoy these artists as much as I do.
Today, I am spotlighting Cheryl Connell. Cheryl followed me on Twitter, and that’s how I discovered her beautiful artwork. You can see her DeviantArt gallery by clicking this link. The pieces I am showcasing today are all drawn with charcoal and pencils; which I think is absolutely amazing.
By far my favourite piece is the one below, of Dean from Supernatural. I think Connell has really captured his essence in this drawing. Take a look.
I’ve made a collage of my other favourites of Connell’s work. In there we have Magneto, WarHorse, Damon Salvatore, House, Man of Steel, and Memoirs of a Geisha. I absolutely love of all of these pieces, and am still speechless at how fantastic they are. Without further ado:

I love the Memoirs of a Geisha sketch! The detailed work on the eyes and lips has such a great result! :o
I love charcoal since it adds more effect to a piece and it is brilliant!

I’m glad you like the feature, Kai! I am always finding artists and I know a lot of people like all different kinds of art, so I thought I would showcase some of it in a special spotlight.
Um, oh my god, this is amazing! The shading is absolutely terrific and they’re all so realistic! I love the Hugh Grant one (assuming that is Hugh Grant). For some reason, I can’t stop looking at it.
