2016 Reading Challenges Update (#11)
In an effort to share more of myself with you guys I created Books for Life. I talk about my life outside of this sanctuary called the blogosphere. Hopefully you guys like getting to know the girl behind the blog a little bit more.
At the end of 2015, I set myself three reading challenges for 2016, and to keep myself and you guys (because you are, of course, riveted by my reading life) updated on my progress, I thought I’d do a check in at the end of each month! So, here is my update for November:
goodreads challenge – 150 books
I read thirteen books in November, which brings me to a total of one hundred and sixty two books so far. I would have only had to read one book in November to finish my Goodreads challenge, so I’m extremely happy. I was worried at the beginning of the year that I wouldn’t be able to read 150 books, and look where I am now *happy sigh*

lgbtqia+ challenge – 41-50 books
I read seven LGBTQIA+ books this month (total for 2016 so far: fifty seven). I’m so happy that I’m still going strong with this challenge! I know I haven’t reviewed fifty seven books, but the fact that I’ve read that many makes me so incredibly happy. That’s more than one title a week! I’m really keen to tally up how many LGBTQIA+ I have reviewed, though.

indie lgbtqia+ challenge – 1 book per month
YES for reading three indie LGBTQIA+ titles in November! And one of them (Timekeeper) is one of my absolute favourite books of this entire year. Just goes to show that reading indie titles is super important, and rewarding as well!
How are you going with your reading challenges for 2016?
That’s great you’re doing so well with all of your challenges! I don’t know if I’ll officially sign up for a lot of challenges next year, but I do plan on keeping track of certain books on Goodreads like I’ve done this year – such as Nonfiction, LGBT+, etc.

Thank you! I’m not sure about any challenges next year, either. I don’t think I need an LGBTQIA+ one because I always read those, anyway! I might sign up, just to keep track of how many I’m reading, though :)
Aah this is super good to hear! I kind of want to set myself another reading challange next year in addition to my usual Goodreads one… Because I tend to just pick whichever books and I have SO MANY that I’d really like to read more of! (Such as LGBTQ+ and indie books.) I think I’m like 1 book off my Goodreads challenge, but hopefully I’ll complete that haha.
It can be fun to set yourself reading challenges! I usually go for ones I know I’ll complete easily (like the LGBTQIA+ one, ha!), but they can also serve as a good reminder and push to read certain books, too :D Ohh, you can do it, Eve!
I so admire how dedicated you are to reading so many LGBT+ books, dear Chiara. I adore Dahlia Adler’s work, and I loved your Timekeeper review – that one is on my TBR & I have dropped hints so hopefully Santa will gift it to me this Christmas ;) Thank you for sharing, dear heart, & I’m very excited to see which 2017 challenges you choose to participate in! xox
I can’t believe that I waited so long to read Dahlia’s books! Now I’ve read all her NA books I want to read her YA ones, as well. Oh, that is so lovely! I hope Santa delivers ;D Thank you for keeping up with me, and I’ll hopefully be writing a post about my reading plans for 2017 ASAP!
