artistry

In my travels of the internet, I come across very talented people. Writers, photographers, painters, drawers, graphic designers. And when I find these artist’s beautiful work, I want to share it with as many people as possible. So that is why I decided to create Artistry: A Spotlight. To showcase some of the art that I come across. I hope you enjoy these artists as much as I do.

Oh my goodness. If I had to pick a favourite web designer, there’s no doubt about who I would pick, and that is the darling Mitchii from Aeropapers. I have been in love with her designs for as long as I can remember, and if I’m being entirely honest, I’d say that her designs had a HUGE part in me going self hosted. I wanted one, and I had to go self hosted to get one. So I did. And look at my design. It’s perfect.

Anyway! I decided I would do a spotlight on Mitchii to showcase her gorgeous designs, and let you all fall in love with them, as well! :D I’ve also got some questions so it’s not just me incessantly fangirling about Mitchii’s perfect design skills.

novel-hermit

(Cee’s design over at The Novel Hermit: my favourite aspect would have to be the waves -they are all kinds of  lovely)

1. What inspired you to start designing?

If I wasn’t obvious enough I’m huge otaku (anima & manga fan). Back in the days people create fansites for their favorite series/characters. I wanted to create one for my beloved manga series so I decided to learn HTML and graphic design. I know, it was quite silly reason but it was kind of my outlet then (now I have blogging). It just grew from there. It was one of the most amazing & productive hobby I have ever invested my time with.

what-she-reads

(Georgie’s design over at What She Reads: I adore the simplicity and the pattern of the header)

2. What’s your favourite design you’ve ever made?

Oh my, I really couldn’t think of any design that I particularly favored. I’m very fickle-minded so I changed layouts quite often (this applies for my personal sites). But if I must choose maybe Novel Tea’s design. :D

nvel-tea

(Diana and Maggie’s design over at Novel Tea: I am in love with everything about this design, seriously, and I can see why it’s Mitchii’s favourite. Although I think mine should be her favourite because it’s perf ;D)

3. How would you describe your designing style?

Minimalistic! Ever since I started I’ve always been drawn to minimal scheme. I love clean layouts. It looks so elegant to me. You can go nuts with the structure. I also love the white space! You can easily add design accents if you have a clean palette to start with; so I always go for that kind of design. :D Oh yeah, I also love retro look!

chiara

(My design over at Chiara Sullivan – holy dooly I could not choose a favourite aspect because this design is simply gorgeous on every front. I adore it with all my heart)

4. What’s your favourite word and why? :D

My favorite word? Hmm… maybe peach?! HAHA I don’t like the fruit though but there’s something fun, youthful & cute about the word peach! Plus, it was probably the reason why I named my web portfolio after it.

YMR

(The girls over at YA Midnight Reads recently unveiled this superb design that I am 100% in love with! THE COLOURS)

  1. Ooh does she charge/how much does she charge? I can’t seem to find any info about that haha. I LOVE my design right now but I’m questioning whether it’s professional enough because yet again, I’m having second thoughts about my own blog design. I’ve had it since Jan 2014 and IDK i I’m ready to get a new one. Such a struggle, OMG.

Just email her, and then she sends you a price list! :D Depending on how much customisation etc that you want, the packages are priced accordingly. She’s very reasonable for a completely unique design :D

Aaah, her themes are pretty gorgeous. I love the simple yet elegant look of her themes, it’s something different then most blogs, I didn’t know she made the design for Melanie’s blog xD I like Ashley’s from the Nose Graze designs as well.
