Artistry: A Spotlight on Anja Uhren
In my travels of the internet, I come across very talented people. Writers, photographers, painters, drawers, graphic designers. And when I find these artist’s beautiful work, I want to share it with as many people as possible. So that is why I have decided to create Artistry: A Spotlight. To showcase some of the art that I come across. I hope you enjoy these artists as much as I do.
For my Artistry post today, I am spotlighting Anja Uhren. Oh. My. Gosh. I could not be more in love with artwork than I am with Anja’s – and look, I made so much sense just then. But seriously. Just wait until you scroll down a bit and discover the beauty that this girl creates!
The first ever piece of Anja’s artwork that I stumbled across was this one:
It was created for commission for a tattoo. I cannot imagine having a more beautiful piece of artwork on my body. Just look at the colours and the textures. It’s absolutely beautiful.
As I am writing this, I am about to buy a set of bookmarks from Anja’s Etsy store (link at the bottom of this post). Here they are:
Aren’t they just the most gorgeous things? Every single thing that Anja creates is absolutely stunning.
I had to include three collages this time, and even that was extremely difficult. There is not one piece that I did not want to include in this post. I want to share this beauty with everyone!
My three uber favourites are the larger ones in each of the collages. I think my all time beloved one would have to be the large one in the first collage, though. The girl and the boy leaning against the wall. My heart just goes out to this particular piece, and I want to somehow own it. The Beauty and the Beast one is also absolutely gorgeous.
If you would like to see more of Anja’s work, or buy some of it; here are some links: Tumblr | Facebook | Blog | DeviantArt | Etsy
I sincerely hope that you are as enamoured by Anja’s work as I am! I could literally stare at it all day. Well, I am off to buy some pieces!
Until next time,
Love this fairytale inspired work! It reminds me of some of the cover art for that graphic novel series, Fables. :)
I’m glad you like it! I simply cannot get over how beautiful everything is :D
I just looked into Fables, and the cover artwork is very nice!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE those book marks! Thanks for providing the link to her shop! :)
They are gorgeous, aren’t they? No problem, Lindsey! I hope you fins something you want!
This is absolutely stunning! This combines two awesome things (art & fairytales) THANKS for sharing this. I’m going to stalk her several websites now.
I’m glad you think so, Mel! Funnily enough, I thought of you when I saw the Beauty and the Beast artwork :D
Dear Chiara,
Unfortunately I am not able to reply to your emails (it keeps coming back, maybe you want your inbox is filled up?) That’s why I’m replying this way. :)
oh my, I cannot tell you how humbled I feel right now!
All those lovely words are way too much for my ego…
Thank you so much! Reading all this really means a lot to me, I am so glad to know my work provides you with so much joy.
I feel a bit sad though, because today a new order of prints arrived including the illustration of the boy and the girl reading, which you said was your favourite. If I had known I would have slipped one of them into the letter that is already on it’s way to you…
Anyway, I hope everything will arrive safely – thank you so much again for this big order and this super lovely blog feature!
I very much appreciate your interest in my work. :)
All the very best,
Anja
I’m a bookmark hoarder which, I am glad to say, is not a habit that takes up too much space. Thank you for the spotlight- Anja’s work is so beautiful and I may never have been exposed to it otherwise! I’m off to buy those bookmarks, myself.
I hoard bookmarks, as well! Whenever I find one that catches my eye, I have to buy it. Like you said, at least they don’t take up too much space, haha :D
I know! I am simply in love with it.
Oh, yay! I hope you love them. :)
I think my favourite is the boy with the girl reading. They’re stunning! :o
I need some of these! *grabby hands* I’m off to her etsy store now! Etsy has such pretty items, it’s like a fairy land! *.*
I KNOW. That’s my favourite, too! I am so deeply in love with it I cannot even.
I hope you ended up buying something, Lillian! The art is even more beautiful in person.
Etsy is like a fairyland. I could totally get lost in there.
