Today, I am spotlighting a cover that has just been revealed by one of my favourite authors: Erica Crouch! Take a look…..
Goodreads synopsis:
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea…
Annaleigh Wells and William Calloway had a love even the angels envied. It was as if the universe spun them toward one another, like the stars crafted their souls to fit perfectly together.
With a wedding on the horizon, fate had a change of heart. Whispered warnings from phantoms and morbid nightmares darkened every night—but even visions of the future couldn’t save Annaleigh.
Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s poem Annabel Lee, Crouch’s period romance Madly, Deeply tells the tale of love so great, it cannot be contained in just one life.
Why am I crushing?
Where do I even start? Maybe with the fact that Erica is my favourite cover designer (EVER). I adore and covet every single one that she produces, and Madly, Deeply is no different.
I love its eeriness, and its simplicity. I’ve mentioned before how much I love humans in and under water, so how could this cover not shoot to my favourites list?
The decorative ‘m’, ‘d’, and ‘ls’ are absolutely gorgeous. But my favourite aspect would probably have to be the small ripple of water around Erica’s name – I simply adore it.
I am in love with every aspect of this cover, and cannot wait to read the words behind it! I have no doubt they will live up to their cover.
A bit more about the author:
Erica Crouch is a young adult author from the colorful city of Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, she is studying English and Creative Writing with a specialization in Fiction at Southern New Hampshire University. She is the cofounder and head of editorial services and design at Patchwork Press.
Erica’s debut novel, Ignite, was published June 2013. The e-novella sequel, Entice, was released Nov. 2013. The final book in the series, Incite, is expected spring 2014.
Along with the series Ignite, she is working on a new adult series — titled the Undying series, with the first installment, Cut, due 2014 – and a Robin Hood gender-swap retelling — titled the Feathered series, a duology (Robin, Hood) due 2015. When Erica isn’t writing, she’s reading an overwhelming stack of books, watching an obscene amount of Netflix, and procrastinating.

What do you think of this beautiful cover?
I’m not a fan of the text, but the photo is so beautiful! It creeps me out, yet it’s still really elegant and it’s quite addictive to look at! :P
I love the photo! :D it is really addictive, too. I hope it gets published in paperback, because I think it would be gorgeous.
For me, the cover isn’t remarkable at first glance. I think it might be because I’m biased more to contrasting color palettes and typography. The typography on this cover could be a lot better, but after reading the synopsis I’m really interested in the book.
I can understand that. I personally love how it all fits so well together in the same kind of eerie atmosphere. I’m glad you’re interested in the book though, Kaniesha!
Like Aimee, I don’t love the font that much. The colours and placement is a bit weird. But overall, it’s definitely an absolutely gorgeous cover! The image is just so amazing. :D
I’m glad you like it overall, Laura! And yes, that image is so beautiful. ^.^
Ok, so, that cover is pure awesome. Where do I sign up!
I know, right! I am so in love with it. :D
Oh my gosh! That cover is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing Chiara! <3
I’m so glad you think so, Zoe! And no problem ^.^
It took me two different looks before I saw the face! I first thought it was someone diving into the water :p
I think that’s awesome, though! I love when a cover looks like two different things. :)
It actually took me a moment to see what the cover was, looking at it on my Kindle. At first glance it remind me of the wisp of smoke on the Looking for Alaska cover.
Does the author create her own covers? Kudos. I’ve designed a cover for an author and its not as simple as it sounds. Great job.
True! The dress is very wispy and smoky (likely one of the reasons I love it!).
Yes, Erica designs all her own covers, and all of them are gorgeous! ;D I have such respect for people with design skills!
That cover is gorgeous! The font suits it perfectly, and it doesn’t look unnatural, yes, definitely perfect. Love the colours used, and you are right, it’s simple and eerie.
New stalker :D
I’m glad you think so, Gina :D I am in love with this cover, and I kind of want to stroke it, haha XD
Heehee, stalk away ;P
The image is just gorgeous! I’m a bit of a font lover, so I feel like that one doesn’t fit properly. But that image!!! I’m totally a sucker for underwater photos with big dresses that float delicately around. <3 Thanks for sharing Chiara! x
I’m glad you like it, Joy!
I am also a huge sucker for underwater photos, I am absolutely obsessed :D
No problem ^.^
This is super beautiful! It is simple, but powerfully simple and there is so much that comes to mind off this one image. The fancy font goes great with the simplicity of the image. Wonderful!
I think so, too! :D I think the floweriness of the font really contrasts well to the eerie simplicity of the picture, as well. I’m glad you liked it, Vyki!
