books-for-life

Books for Life is where I share bookish lists, recommendations, and favourites. You can also catch me talking about non-bookish things here, as well as my life outside of blogging. Today I’m talking about…

figaro (my cat)

Now, I have mentioned my love for cats in general a lot on here, as well as my love for my cat. And last week on Twitter I asked if anyone would be interested in reading a post about how much I love my cat and the answer was yes. Which is actually pretty great because it means I get to talk about Figgy :D

This is pretty much just going to be a post of photos of my cat (some with me) and me talking about how cute he is etc. Enjoy!

This is the oldest of the photos that are going to be in this post. Originally I wanted to do Figgy’s entire life story, starting with when he was a tiny kitten, but then I got lazy so only decided to post photos that I had on my computer, and that were in a square shape (I am terrible, I know). The above photo is me kissing Figgy on the head when I was studying for university exams. He always loved it when I studied for some reason, but it also made it super hard to do anything because he was being adorable and also lying across my notebooks.

Here is a nice head-shot of my darling. Originally we were going to name him Aladdin (we always give our fur babies Disney names in this household), but then we ended up naming him Figaro after the kitten from Pinocchio. I think it suits him incredibly well because that kitten is a kitten forever and Figgy could have been called Peter Pan for all the growing up he’s done.

Considering the fact that I have seen this face every day for ten years I am still struck by his cuteness on a daily basis. I don’t even want to count how many photos I have of my little baby. I’d say there are too many but there’s no such thing.

My bb is photogenic AF. I often make comments that he could have been a show cat because he’s so gorgeous.

As cute as he may look in the above photo this is Figgy’s “‘wtf do you think you are doing?” face. I annoy him a lot, even though he loves me.

This is one of my favourite photos of Fig because you can see how small he is. I always love it when he’s surrounded by pretty things because I think it suits him.

HE’S SO LITTLE. Which is something I exclaim on a daily basis. He is really small, and like a little bubba. Thus, I treat him as such.

My name is Figaro and I will interrupt my mummy when she is taking photos because everything is always about me.

Why are sleeping animals so CUTE? Also, in this photo he is sleeping on his Frozen blanket. He sleeps on it all the time, and he kneads it, as well. I have filmed quite a few videos of him kneading because it’s so adorable. When he kneads he kind of goes into this mode of intense concentration and I sob at his cuteness (there needs to be more words that mean adorable and cute).

Figgy’s ears have always been massive. My family used to joke that he was part bat because he has this little head, but these massive ears. When he was a kitten his legs were so much longer compared to his body so he looked like a horse. I often compare him to a rabbit, as well, because his little back legs remind me of a rabbit. He also has this soft skin behind he top parts of his front legs which reminds me of a sugar glider. HE IS NOT A KITTY. HE IS A MONSTER.

I actually do not look like this anymore (picture orange/strawberry blonde hair), but this is a favourite photo of mine. Figgy is a very kissie and affectionate kitty, which I love. It’s mainly on his terms (like, I can’t just want a cuddle and him be okay with it all the time), but the fact that he decides to curl up into the crook of my neck every morning gives me the warm fuzzies. He loves to bite, as well. I think the biting is a sign of love because he only bites me and he loves me best *sunglasses emoji*

To be honest, I don’t know if I could ever describe how much I love Figgy. He loves me unconditionally, and 100% as I am. He is always there for me, and gives really nice, soft cuddles. He doesn’t care that I sing cat versions of songs (e.g. last night, when I “meowed” Phantom of the Opera songs at him). He follows me around like a shadow. He’s got such a vivid and unique personality. He is goddamn adorable. He is my everything.

Do you have a kitty or animal that you love a lot? Tell me about them in the comments!

Aww your kitty is pretty! I have a kitty too who I of course love! She’s a pretty short-haired tortie who “squeaks” a lot (her meow sounds more like a squeak). She doesn’t have a high tolerance for when my husband and I squish her out of our love for her, but she’s still pretty friendly overall. :)

    • Chiara says:

Thank you! Yay for having kitties who are loved :D Figgy’s meow is very funny, as well. I love cats with unique meows! Ah, they all have to handle some squishes every now and again, right?

Chiara, Figgy is so adorable! I love his blue eyes and how he looks like an Egyptian cat who were companions to kings and queens! He is so loveable too <3

  3. Jennifer says:

Quality content. I was in need of some cat-related something-or-other since I can’t see my own kitties on a daily basis. Thank you! (Also, Figgy is posi-lutely gorgeous! Those eyes!)

  4. Your cat is so gorgeous!!

You know all about my Vinci. He’s quite the character haha. If only he was as well behaved as he was loud.

    • Chiara says:

      Isn’t he just? ^.^

I love Vinci! He’s so playful and fluffy :D Oh, Figgy isn’t well behaved, either. But I think that’s part of their charm, right?

You might really love your cat, but I love your cat more :D
