2016 Reading Challenges Update (#4)
In an effort to share more of myself with you guys I created Books for Life. I talk about my life outside of this sanctuary called the blogosphere. Hopefully you guys like getting to know the girl behind the blog a little bit more.
At the end of 2015, I set myself three reading challenges for 2016, and to keep myself and you guys (because you are, of course, riveted by my reading life) updated on my progress, I thought I’d do a check in at the end of each month! So, here is my update for April:
goodreads challenge – 150 books
I read fourteen books in April, which brings me to a total of forty seven books so far. Once again, as seems to be the norm with me, I was on track and now I am FIVE books behind. I don’t even know how because I think that fourteen books in one month is pretty great. Although, according to Goodreads, it is not. So far in May I’ve only read four books, so no doubt I’ll be even more behind come my next update. *grumbles*
Titles reviewed:
When We Collided by Emery Lord
Broken Sky by L.A. Weatherly
The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry
The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
lgbtqia+ challenge – 41-50 books
I read two LGBTQIA+ books this month (total for 2016 so far: fifteen). I am pretty disappointed that I only read two LGBTQIA+ books this month. I could say that it’s because I’ve been inundated with review copies recently, but I should still try to read some LGBTQIA+ books in between those. I’m likely behind on this challenge, but I know I’m going to read more in May!
Titles Reviewed:
None so far – reviews for both coming up soon!
indie lgbtqia+ challenge – 1 book per month
Unfortunately, I failed this challenge for the first time this year. I didn’t manage to read an indie LGBTQIA+ book in April, and I am really disappointed. I did read two in March, but the challenge is to read one every month. Hopefully I can read two in May to make up for it!
How are you going with your reading challenges for 2016?
WOW I wished I had the time to read that amount of books! I’m so jealous.
Reading is super important to me, so I always make time for it!
You’re doing pretty awesome so far though! And quite a few months left to catch up :-)
Thank you! I hope I can catch up by the end of 2016 :D
I still think you’re doing quite well, so no worries! I should do a challenge update on my blog but I’ve mostly just been keeping track on Goodreads. I’m not that worried by the numbers; just trying to do what I can. I AM reading a ton of LGBT+ novels lately though – lots of good ones on Netgalley!

Thank you! Yeah, a lot of people keep track on Goodreads, but I already have way too many shelves on there, and it’s fun making these posts :D Ah, I’m glad you’re reading lots of LGBTQIA+ novels! I actually requested The Empty Hourglass on NG because of your review :D
You seem to be doing pretty well to me! I’m sure you’ll catch up in now time if 14 books is the way you’re doing it.
Thank you! :D I am now three books ahead because I’ve been devouring some graphic novels, haha!
