tag

My fellow princess and maypole dancer, Asti, tagged me to do the Cinderella Book Tag not so long ago (okay, it was like a month ago but shhhh), and here I am. ;D This tag was originally created by Tiffany!

Evil Stepsisters: a book with characters you just hate

cut both ways

I really and truly hate Will’s parents in Cut Both Ways. His mother and stepfather were plain horrible people, and his father was negligent. Did not appreciate those character at all.

Prince Charming: a book with a gentleman

ignite

Michael from Ignite is seriously the most charming character I’ve probably ever read about. He’s always putting Pen first, and is about as selfless and caring and chivalrous as one get get.

Cinderella: a character that is graceful, kind, and defiant

throne of glass

I’m going to have to go with Nehemia (I think that’s how you spell it) from Throne of Glass. She’s a princess so she’s graceful, she’s kind to Celaena when she needs it, but she’s also incredibly defiant when it comes to what she’s fighting for.

Fairy Godmother: a character that always has someone looking out for them

THG

My first thought was Katniss, from The Hunger Games. That girl ALWAYS has someone looking out for her, legit.

Helpful Creatures: something that makes you happy when you’re sad

wildwood dancing

Wildwood Dancing will always make me happy.

Ashes: a book you didn’t care for

ash

Sadly, I wasn’t a fan of Ash at all. Which is so sad because it’s an LGBT+ fairytale retelling. But it was just painful to get through, to be honest.

Pumpkin: a character with a transformation

legend1

Watching June grow throughout the Legend series is so awesome, and is done in such a beautiful and believable way. This series is just too good for words.

Impossible: a book with an ending you didn’t see coming

forbidden

Don’t even get me started on the ending of Forbidden. Just do  not.

Just Breathe: something that inspires you to be courageous

hundred tk

I’m going to go with The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms because Yeine is seriously just a complete badass character, and I love this book to pieces. I want to be so badass. One day ;D

Happily Ever After: a book with a perfect ending

champion by marie lu

The ending of Champion is too beautiful for words. This will probably always be my favourite ending to a series. Ever. <3

I Tag: Shannelle @ The Art of Escapism, Mitchii @ Rainy Ink Studio, Sandra @ Tea Between Books, Shelly @ Read, Sleep, Repeat <3

Although, if you want to do this tag, I tag you! :D

28 Responses to The Cinderella Book Tag!

  1. Great tag Chiara! I really need to read the Legend series, and now I own the first book so it’s certainly time to get started! So true about Katniss always having someone looking out for her – she’s pretty much always got someone on her team.
    Thanks for sharing :)

    • Chiara says:

      Thanks, lovely!

Oh, yes. You so do need to read the Legend trilogy! The third is my favourite in the series ^.^

I definitely think Katniss always has someone ready to protect her!

      No problem ^.^ <3

  2. oh man I realllly want to read Forbidden! I’m on a book buying ban until December but once December comes….I SHALL GET THAT BOOK!!!!

  3. What an awesome tag! Nehemia *sobs*. Great choice. And Katniss does always seem to have someone looking out for her, even though most of the time she doesn’t realise (because nobody ever tells her!). I still really have to read Wildwood Dancing ;)

  4. Chantelle says:

I think I have to read this Ignite in order to meet this very charming character. :D

  5. So happy you did the tag :) I wouldn’t have thought of Katniss for Fairy Godmother, but you’re right. She is a perfect choice!

  6. Mitchii G. says:

I was tagged! I saw this before & I may need to think about my choices. ;D I too think that Legend series has bittersweet, unusual ending. It wasn’t all too happy for me, I guess hopeful is the right word to describe it.

  7. Valerie says:

So I guess this means I MUST read the Legend series? I do like perfect endings, especially when it’s an ending to a series. And I totally agree that Katniss has pretty much everyone looking out for her hahah.

  8. This looks like such fun! Might have to do it myself.

  9. Im with you on Ash, sadly. :( I LOVE fairy tale retellings, but I really didn’t think it was much of a “retelling”??? Like it was nearly word-for-word the original, with just a LGBT romance, which was GREAT. But the actual story was lacking for me. *wails softly*
AHHH I LOVE KATNISS’ MOTHERING INSTINCTS.

    • Chiara says:

I KNOOOOOW. I was just like: this is just Cinderella with a few things changed. And I had such high hopes for it, especially because it was a fariytale + LGBT+ romance *sadface*

  10. OMG I think I just remembered the end of Forbidden ahhhhhhh </3 What a sad sad story. I dont think I would have ever chosen Katniss in that category omg, but now that I think of it you are right. She always DOES have someone looking out for her, lol. And I was also surprised when you chose Nehemia. But she really is a great character, Love these kinda posts! Also hiiii I'm back! lol

  11. Shannelle says:

Thanks a lot for the tag, Chiara! I just don’t think I’ll be able to do this because I’m lazy and I really can’t think of any books too, but I’ll try. If I can.

  12. Romi says:

Nehemia is the perfect encapsulment (totes a word) of grace and kindness. I love her relationship with Celaena and her passion and defiance. Perfect answer there. Katniss does always seem to have someone looking out for her, once she gets into the first games. It’s a fairly stark contrast after being the one to look after everyone. How interesting, I’d never thought of it like that before.
NICE TAG JOB GOOD WELL NICELY DONE. xx

  13. Wildwood dancing forever :) I also think Nehemia is a perfect pick. I should pick up Champion, because it would be great to finish that series this year for my own series-challenge.
