First of all, I would really really like to thank Chiara for inviting me here today! She’s so incredibly sweet, and I adore her very much! <3

What matters most to you when you’re blogging?

Sometimes it’s easy to get carried away when you’re doing, what you tell yourself, what you love the most.

It’s easy to get influenced by other bloggers, by your friends and by your environment as you read, as you set your goals, and as you blog.

That’s why, sometimes I find it best to sit back, and reflect a little about what gives you the most joy in your blogging experience and journey!

For some, it may be their statistics, receiving ARCs, or maybe blogging milestones for them to aim for, and hey! That’s totally fine!

But sometimes, what you have to think about, is what gives you the most joy, what you feel the happiest about when you’re blogging.

Personally, I find the most joy in making new friends, in interacting with fellow bloggers. Whenever I see someone tweet me on my feed, or maybe someone commenting on my one of my posts! I have a close circle of great blogging friends, and it’s always so fun to chat with them (even though I’m so bad at holding conversations!!) and that whenever I say something random, they’re always there!

Quality over quantity, that’s what matters most to me. I don’t really feel the need to have the largest circle of friends, I don’t need to be the most popular blogger there is out there. All I need is my group of friends, who always seem to be there for me, no matter what (for which I am eternally grateful!!), who support me when I’m down. For most of them, except two, I’ve never met them in my life! But what never ceases to amaze me is how we can be so close, that we can tell each other anything, no matter how, in the sense of geography, how far apart we are.

And when it comes down to it, when I stress over statistics, ARCs, or maybe feel a twinge of jealousy of other bloggers, thinking of all the friends, and loyal supporters I have, I remember the reason why I’m able to stay around for such a long period of time. And I consider why this community is so close to my heart.

Being able to pinpoint and cherish what is most important to you is critical, and it’s precious. Because in those days where you feel down and out, always remember to count your blessings, instead of your woes! There’s always something in what you’re doing that has to make you happy, and for me, the friendships I’ve forged is my sunny sun in my cloudy days! :)

Oh. And not forgetting…. Some Jack Frost love for you ;D (see Chiara? WORLD DOMINATION)

Thank you again, Emily, dear! And I definitely agree with you about what matters most to me when blogging – and that would be all the people I’ve met. Who’ve supported me, and offered me advice, and kept me from going over that scary ledge. I love you all.

So: what matters most to you when you’re blogging? Sound off below! :D

6 Responses to Guest Post from Emily @ Reverie Rhapsody: What Matters Most When You’re Blogging?

  1. A great post from a fellow Emily :) I think’s it’s a good reminder every now and again that we don’t have to be the best blogger out there – the blogging community is so wide that there’s a place for everyone, and I’m very grateful to have found my spot in it :)

  2. This is such a lovely post! And I’d have to agree with Emily, while I admit I do sometimes get carried away, stressing over statistics and ARCs, the most enjoyable thing about blogging is meeting new people and making friends with bloggers in the YA Community!

  3. What a lovely post! I’ve got to agree. The most important part isn’t becoming “web famous”. The most important part, for me, is to discover new friends with similar tastes in books and having nice bookish discussions. In real life, I don’t really have many people with which to talk about books (or fangirl) so blogging has definitely given me that. :)

For me the most important thing about blogging is sharing the love of books! I just love how I can randomly talk to other book lovers and it wouldn’t be awkward at all because we share one awesome thing in common and that is the love for books.

  5. I absolutely loved this guest post! And Emily. ;)
For me, I think it’s just a balance of everything. I love making new friends and getting closer to those that I already know. I love waking up to sweet comments and replies to comments I’ve made. I have to admit that it also makes me happy whenever I see a new follower though! Can’t help but love that feeling too. :D

Awww this is such a cute post!

I have to agree with everything, even though I’m new, I still have found a couple of bloggy friends, even when they live so far away from me! I love how we can just comment or tweet to each other randomly without being judged at all :)
