mail

Books for Mail is basically me showcasing my addiction to buying books. Every two weeks, I’ll show you guys which books I have bought/received, and hopefully you’ll find some great titles!

In My Mailbox:

SS Collage10

Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey: This is LGBT paranormal, which aren’t all that common, so I am super keen to get reading this one!

One Man Guy by Michael Barakiva: This just sounds too cute for words, really.

Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas: I have heard nothing but AMAZING things about this book, and the lovely Ebony bought it for me for Bookish Christmas!

The Perilous Gard by Elizabeth Marie Pope: This was another Bookish Christmas present from Ebony, and it looks pretty freaking awesome :D

Made For You by Melissa Marr: Reviews I’ve read have talked about how utterly creepy this is, and I just really want to read an actual creepy book.

The Madness by Alison Rattle: Back when I did Cover Crush, I featured this cover because it is so darn beautiful, so when I saw this in the shop, I grabbed it up snap quick.

How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell: My mum bought this for me for Christmas because TOOTHLESS.

sunday

Simply Sunday is a reading meme run here at Books for a Delicate Eternity. It’s where you can share your favourite quote of the week; be it from a book, a novella, a short story, a poem, a song – whatever you like!

My Simple Thing:

“We stand in silence for another moment and I realize how lucky I am to have someone I can be myself around in all my melancholy glory.”

A quote from Marisa Calin (Between You & Me).

Why I Chose It:

I think it takes a lot to be able to be less-than-happy in someone’s presence. Usually, people just expect you to be 100% happy 100% of the time – which is just ridiculous. And I think if you find someone you can really just be yourself with – sadness and gloominess and happiness and everything-ness – it’s really special. So I think this quote really shows that, because if you can find someone that you can just be silent and sad with … you are pretty lucky.

What books did you receive in the mail recently? What do you think of my Simply Sunday?

  2. I haven’t received any new books this week (I’m really happy about this lol ). Made For You was an awesome, creepy book! You should definitely read it. It’s a page-turner and if you love mystery, then I think you will like it!

  3. I’ve only heard great things about One May Guy and I’ve never heard of Witch Eyes, so I’m off to look that one up. I also recently acquired Dangerous Girls and look forward to reading it!

I love the quote you chose and why. I bought it a few months ago and after this post, will be bumping it up on my TBR.

    • Chiara says:

Yay! I actually haven’t seen One Man Guy around a lot, so I haven’t heard much about it, but I’m glad you’ve been hearing great things, Rebecca :D Witch Eyes was a good paranormal read. I have heard nothing but absolutely amazing things about Dangerous Girls, so I hope we both like it as much as everyone else!

I hope you end up reading Between You & Me! It’s gorgeous.

  4. Beautiful quote, and great books too! Hope you enjoy them Chiara :D

  5. I love How To Train Your Dragon and wouldn’t mind reading the book :)
I heard Made For You is super creepy! I’ve always wanted to read it but I’m a bot reluctant to read it if it really is that creepy, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

I loved the movie too, so I am actually really quite excited abut reading the original story :D

All the reviews I have read for Made For You have said how completely creepy it is, so that’s why I’m looking forward to reading it! So often I am let down by YA thrillers, so I hope this one lives up to the things I have heard.

  6. One Man Guy is one of my favorite books of 2014, Chiara! I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!
I’m not familiar with your other books, but they all look interesting :)

  11. ‘Made For You’ sounds so awesome! I can’t wait to see your thoughts on it ;D

I like what that quote represents. I have a couple of friends who I can simply be myself around – in any mood at all – and it is definitely refreshing. :D

It’s awesome to have a person/people that you can really just relax around. It’s so special.

  12. Yay for Dangerous Girls! That book is one of my absolute favourite YA thrillers, hope you enjoy it :) I’ve heard lots of good things about Made For You (in that yes, it was super-creepy, but also really captivating), so looking forward to seeing what you think of that one. Hope you have a lovely week Chiara :)

Brilliant haul of books this week poppet, I’m sad to admit that I still haven’t seen How To Train Your Dragon but will rectify that this weekend.

I can’t wait to see what you think of Dangerous Girls. That book blew my socks clean into next week. It was absolutely brilliant.

    Thanks for sharing Chiara <3

    • Chiara says:

Did you watch it? Did you fall in love with Toothless? He is pretty much my favourite (although I have to admit I have A LOT of favourites).
