mail

Books for Mail is basically me showcasing my addiction to buying books. Every two weeks, I’ll show you guys which books I have bought/received, and hopefully you’ll find some great titles!

First up: holy shit did I get a bucket load of books these last two weeks *screams happily*

In My Mailbox:

SS Collage8

The Wandering by Saruuh Kelsey: EEP. I loved The Forgotten a bunch load and I cannot wait to read The Wandering! Thanks to Saruuh for this copy!

The Young Elites by Marie Lu: MY DARLING KAYLA GOT THIS FOR ME FOR CHRISTMAS AND I JUST WHAT EVEN IS AIR???

Far From You by Tess Sharpe: Kayla also got me this and I just LOVE HER.

Masquerade by Kylie Fornasier: Thanks to Cait and Penguin Australia for this copy! Winning giveaways is always awesome, especially when the prize looks so GOOD.

Pandora Hearts 22 by Jun Mochizuki: I read this day I got it and I just. MY BABIES.

Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz: I bought this after I read it from the library because I adored it.

Ten Things I Hate About You by David Levithan: DAVID. LEVITHAN. AND TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU. CAN ANYTHING BE MORE PERFECT? No.

Bought In Store:

SS Collage8-2

Solitaire by Alice Oseman: I have been hearing so many good things, and it was like $12.

Falling into Place by Amy Zhang: Again, with the amazing things + $12.

Dreamer’s Pool by Juliet Marillier: I LOVE HER, and I am meeting her for the second time this year next weekend :D

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn: Popular. Intriguing. $13.

Daughters of the Storm by Kim Wilkins: This woman is magic.

sunday

Simply Sunday is a reading meme run here at Books for a Delicate Eternity. It’s where you can share your favourite quote of the week; be it from a book, a novella, a short story, a poem, a song – whatever you like!

My Simple Thing:

“I’ll bury my love, but it won’t ever really go away.”

A quote from Sara Farizan (If You Could Be Mine).

Why I Chose It:

I think this is really true – especially if the love between you and another person doesn’t work out. I’m not really sure if love ever really goes away, even after you’ve fallen in love with someone else. I think an echo of what you felt will always haunt your heart.

What books did you receive in the mail recently? What do you think of my Simply Sunday?

Also, I hope you have noticed my beautiful new banners for all my features! I commissioned darling Mitchii (again!) and she produced these gorgeous banners (and thumbnails too, if you look at the homepage!), and I could not be happier ^.^

  1. Ooh….I honestly cannot wait to hear what you think of The Young Elites, Far From You and Masquerade! And, WHAT?! 10 Things I Hate About You is a book? I did not know this. I really hope you love both Falling Into Place and Solitaire – I thought they were both very enjoyable and I can’t wait to see what you think of Gone Girl as well.

    Beautiful quote, as always. :)

  2. Yay! Hope you like Falling Into Place and Gone Girl – I loved both of those and they are really intense reads. Solitaire looks great as well and I’ve been seeing some good things about it so looking forward to hearing about what you make of it :) Looks like you’ve gotten some great reads this week Chiara, and you picked a beautiful quote as well. Hope you have a fantastic week!

    1. Every time I see/hear the word Masquerade, I think of the second book in my all-time favorite series, which has a very similar cover, but it’s not of the same style (it’s a real person wearing a Venetian (I think) mask). That cover for Dreamer’s Pool is gorgeous. In fact, a lot of them are.

    2. I think I might ask my mom to help me with my blogging needs for Christmas this year so I can feel confident when asking Mitchii for something like this, but that means less books to open. I’m just finding myself with a lot of anxiety about contacting her, though…

    3. I’m finally making the leap and joining this lovely meme thing on my own blog, and also coming up with my own. Yay! :D

There are heaps of covers with masks on them, and I find that I like them all! I’ve always been a sucker for masks, I love them. And yes, the cover for Dreamer’s Pool is really pretty!

Ah, don’t stress, Jen. Mitchii is seriously the sweetest. I was really nervous about contacting her, too, but she was lovely!

Yay! I finally got around to commenting, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with :D

  4. I HOPE YOU LOVE THE YOUNG ELITES WITH ALL YOUR HEART. I was so underwhelmed by the cover but man oh man, the words. They were brilliant. The funny thing is, I was just eyeing Far From You up this week at the bookstore. It’s on the highest shelf though so every time I go to reach for it, I psych myself out. Perhaps I should go back though…

I mostly picked up summer contemporary reads this week because I’ve been hoarding for the Christmas season! I can’t wait to just hit the beach and read. BUT THE HEAT, I CAN’T DEAL WITH THE 40 PLUS.

  5. I really loved Gone Girl. I thought Far From You was great as well. I hope that you enjoy it!

  6. Lesley is like the biggest advocate of Pandora Hearts and need to check that out soon since you also liked it. I need to read The Young Elites, too. >.< Awesome haul, happy reading Chiara! <3

I like the idea of Simple Sunday posts…they’re simple but meaningful (and a great way to catalogue all those beautiful quotes, right?
Wow so many books! I’ve also heard good things about Solitaire (and what a pretty cover!). I keep on forgetting that Levithan wrote 10 Things I Hate About You…but it just adds to the movie’s awesomeness, no?

  8. FAR FROM YOU!!! I love that book so much and I just had to get it for you :D The Young Elites is amazing so far, by the way. It’s all dark and mysterious and EPIC.

I hope you enjoy Falling Into Place – I’m still trying to decide if I want to read it or not!
