Books for Mail is basically me showcasing my addiction to buying books. Every two weeks, I’ll show you guys which books I have bought/received, and hopefully you’ll find some great titles!

Books in my Mailbox:

SS Collage1

And because I got over excited and forgot which day it was, I also received these two bad boys:

SS Collage2

The Treatment by Suzanne Young: I loved The Program, and I was lucky enough to get this hardback (!) review copy. Thanks to Simon & Schuster Australia!

Viral Nation + Rebel Nation by Shaunta Grimes: I reviewed Viral Nation as one of my first eARCs on the blog and loved it, so I decided to buy it and its sequel, which I have yet to read. These are such gorgeous paperbacks, and I’m so glad I own them!

Chasing Before by Lenore Appelhans: I really liked Level 2 (or The Memory of After as it is titled now), and cannot wait to see how the story ends. Thank you Allen & Unwin!

Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick: I have never read a Becca Fitzpatrick novel, and this one looks awesome. Thank you Simon & Schuster Australia!

Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman: Bookworld was having a sale, and I couldn’t resit buying this book. I cannot wait to read it.

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma: I heard about this from Aimee, and I HAD to buy it. Now to find the time to read this beauty.

The Jewel by Amy Ewing: I have heard so many different things about this book. I cannot wait to see where I stand. Thanks to Walker Books Australia for this beautiful review copy!

Simply Sunday is a reading meme run here at Books for a Delicate Eternity. It’s where you can share your favourite quote of the week; be it from a book, a novella, a short story, a poem, a song – whatever you like!

My Simple Thing:

“You have a sleepy smell, like when you wake up in the morning and you’ve been dreaming too long.”

A quote from Legături Bolnăvicioase.

Why I Chose It:

I just really like the imagery of this quote, and how cute and sweet it is.

What books did you receive in the mail recently? What do you think of my Simply Sunday?

  1. I loved The Treatment and I really hope you love it too! And yay for so many good books! I haven’t read any books by her yet but I’m really excited for Black Ice. And wow! The Aussie cover of The Jewel looks absolutely amazing! I hope you enjoy all your new books. :D

  2. I still need to read ‘The Program’ which I am hoping to get to soon – I’ve heard it’s really good from most of the Aussie blogging community, so I’m trusting that judgement. ‘Prisoner of Night and Fog’ and ‘Viral Nation’ look pretty awesome too! I’ve received ‘The Jewel’ as well, and it seems to be pretty good so far. I also got ‘Black Ice’ which, after reading Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush Hush series looks like it’s going to be an exhilirating read. Enjoy all your books Chiara!

PS. That is a beautiful quote you picked this week :)

    • Chiara says:

The Program was REALLY good, Eugenia and I definitely recommend it :D

I’ve hears pretty good things about Prisoner of Night and Fog, so I am uber keen to read it!

It seems like we got some similar titles this week. I cannot wait to read them.

I’m glad you liked the quote ^.^

  3. I have The Jewel coming too. I’ve heard all the mixed reviews and tbh I’m a bit apprehensive, but the cover is sensationally beautiful (esp. this UK edition)! My shopping addiction has reached an all new high and the sad thing is, I don’t even remember what is meant to be heading to me :O But you’ve got some great additions–I can’t wait to here what you have to say about Black Ice!

    • Chiara says:

Yeah, I have heard pretty mixed reviews about The Jewel, as well, Jess! I’m interested to see which side I fall on. And yes, I think both covers for this book are superb!

I love the feeling of not knowing which books are on their way – I think it makes it all the more exciting, haha :D

I can’t wait to read Black Ice!

  4. Emma says:

The Austrailian cover for The Jewel is BEAUTIFUL! I want a copy! Like…no fair! And such a sweet and simple quote, Chiara! I love, love, LOVE it as always! <3

  5. Good luck with The Jewel, haha. It has at least a pretty cover you can look at. Prisoner of night and fog is AHAMAZING! Happy reading :D

  6. You got some great books. I am supposed to be getting Black Ice, too. For some reason my ARC’s arrive after everyone else’s? I just finished The Jewel and I loved it. Looking over the reviews on Goodreads it seems to be the book you either love or hate. Apparently it’s a lot like the selection, but I haven’t read that so I can’t compare.

Happy reading, and lovely quote :)

    • Chiara says:

I know! I feel very lucky.

Mine always come later, as well, because I live in QLD and all the publishers are in Sydney or Melbourne. Maybe it’s the same case with you?

Oh, yay! I haven’t seen many positive reviews for The Jewel, but I am still really looking forward to reading it :D

I’m glad you like the quote Rochelle, and thank you!

  7. Oh man, I don’t know what I’m thinking about The Jewel. I’ve read so many reviews that set off warning bells in my head. So glad to hear you received The Treatment, I know you loved the first book! Enjoy all of your books lovely!

    • Chiara says:

Haha, I know what you mean, Jeann! I am still looking forward to it though :D

I’m so happy with The Treatment because I did love The Program and I want to see how everything turns out!

      Thank you <3

  8. EEEP, can’t wait to read The Treatment as well! I have it coming up :) Ohh, I hope The Jewel is good, I’ve been wanting to read it :) Happy Reading

  9. Ahh, kinda jealous that you got Black Ice! I read an excerpt of that, and it seemed promising. I can’t wait to see what you have to say about it! Forbidden was great as well. The idea is a bit strange at first but once you get really into it, it’s super good, and I loved it.

    • Chiara says:

I’m glad that the excerpt of Black Ice was good! I cannot wait to read it.

I think Forbidden looks really good and a few fellow bloggers have said they adore it, so I hope I adore it, too!

  10. Day's Lee says:

OMG you must read fast! I have a long reading list, but I dare not get as many as you do at one time. I’ll add these to my to-read list. Thanks!

  11. Kayla says:

Oooohh I still need to read the Treatment too! I really hope you enjoy it :D I’m waiting for my copy of The Jewel to come in the mail; I think it’ll be here by Friday. Technically, it’s my sister’s, but really, it’s mine too ;)

(Can’t wait for Tuesday!!! Well, your Wednesday I guess lol)

    • Chiara says:

I hope I do, too :D I think so much shit is going to go down and it will be FABULOUS.

Of course it is yours, as well. Sharing is caring ;D

OH CRAP IT IS WEDNESDAY NOW WHY AREN’T WE SKYPING

  12. Oh wow! What a wonderful haul Chiara! :) I absolutely loved Prisoner of Night and Fog when I read it – it took such a well-known historical figure and really put on a different viewpoint, which I thought was so intriguing. And I read The Program a little while ago and enjoyed it a fair amount, so I am really excited to see what you think of The Treatment when you read it. :)

Thanks for sharing, and FABULOUS haul! <3

    • Chiara says:

It is wonderful! I am incredibly happy with it, haha :D

I have been hearing a lot of great things about Prisoner of Night and Fog, so I am very excited to read it. I think it will definitely be interesting, to say the last!

      <3

  13. Ooh. I can’t wait to see what you think of Prisoner of Night and Fog and Black Ice. And this is yet another reminder that I need to read The Program! And Forbidden! I need that book.

That’s a lovely quote, but boy, that is a mouthful of a name. I literally have no idea how to go about pronouncing that one.

Recently, I’ve received Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon, Cinder and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and Every Day by David Levithan in the post.

    • Chiara says:

I can’t wait to read them, Ebony :D Ohmygosh Forbidden. I read it the other day and my heart is officially broken. So proceed with caution on that one!

Haha, I know, right! I was just like, okay I won’t even read that XD

Oooo! I have wanted to read Doon for the LONGEST TIME, Cinder and Scarlet are AMAZING, and I bought Every Day not that long ago but haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. I hope you like your bookish mail! :D
