It’s My Birthday!
Dearlings.
The day has come. The DAY has come. Where I turn 21.
I truly thought that when I was younger than I am now that I would never be as old as I am now. 21 was an age far off into the future that would take years, if not eons, to reach. And yet here I am. Time has gone by so quickly. At the end of this year, I will graduate university and then all my schooling will be done. School has always felt like it would never end.
So let me give you a run down of the last 21 years. One line from each year; dictating the most important event of that year.
1993: I was born. EVENT ENOUGH.
1994 (age one): Idk what do one year olds even do that’s worthy. Maybe I spoke that year or something.
1995 (age two): Apparently I was eating butter out of a tub this year, and we also bought our cat, Aristocat.
1996 (age three): My mum thought I was going to die, but I didn’t.
1997 (age four): I broke my arm on a rock.
1998 (age five): I kissed a boy (let’s call him John).
1999 (age six): I started school, and I wanted to (shouts of NERD can be heard in the distance).
2000 (age seven): I saw the introduction of A NEW MILLENNIUM.
2001 (age eight): I kissed John on the cheek and he cried.
2002 (age nine): I received new shoes for my birthday and then stood in a dog shit 5 seconds later.
2003 (age ten): I reached the big two digits this year and began a three year long crush on the one boy.
2004 (age eleven): I learned how to ice skate this year.
2005 (age twelve): I graduated primary school (ALL THE TEARS).
2006 (age thirteen): I started high school and turned into a teen.
2007 (age fourteen): This was the year of the many boy crushes, and we bought our other cat, Figaro.
2008 (age fifteen): I got a fringe.
2009 (age sixteen): I had my first birthday party since age 12, and there was much fun to be had.
2010 (age seventeen): I graduated high school (thank all that is holy), and John kissed me on the cheek.
2011 (age eighteen): I fell in love for the first time, and got my heart broken for the first time.
2012 (age nineteen): The year of the concerts: Alpine, Death Cab for Cutie, The Paper Kites, Florence + The Machine, Matt Corby, City and Colour … lots of concerts.
2013 (age twenty): I created the blog, I left my teens behind, and I parted ways with my best friend of seven years (aka a big year).
2014 (age twenty one): We’re halfway through but I’m graduating university, receiving Honours, having a blogoversay and meeting some of the best friends in the world thanks to blogging. I cannot wait to see what else this year brings.
So there you have it. The bare basics of this 21 year old girl (woman? NO I AM NOT A WOMAN). I hope that you’ll continue to watch me and my blog grow in the years to come!

Happiest of birthdays, Chiara! I remember my 21st birthday well… I had to reshoot a video project for one of my classes and it was so frustrating! I also skipped part of one of my classes to get my license renewed, which was so not an Amy thing to do, but I had to stay legal, and it was a crazy, busy day with school and that dang video shoot! But… at least I got cake at the end of the day. Still, I hope yours is better than all that! :)

HAHAHA! I’m loving your timeline, Chiara. Especially this John dude. Very curious how he managed to take over a good part of it.
All I remember is that when I turned 7, I cried at my own birthday party. I don’t remember why. When I turned 11, I was on a week-long class trip and cried because I knew this was going to be my last before my parents hauled our family across the world. When I turned 21, my friends in my uni hostel knocked meekly on my door, bearing a birthday cake, promising they wouldn’t play a prank on me. Apparently I was the only one who escaped the pranks because they were too scared of me. Hahaha.
Anyway, lots of Merlin incorporated in your birthday celebration. I approve :D And I’m with Kayla, uni graduation is a huge milestone for your 21st already! :)

Actually, no. Hostel mates was for my 20th. When I turned 21, I was injured. Yes, that was it. I strained my meniscus during a match and was out for two months. But there was cake. My teammates surprised me. I think birthdays and I just don’t mesh.
